Chromebook virus from Cryptocurrency websites?

With all the Bitcoin talk on this site I visited a few crytocurrency websites and now I have a virus, I didn't think that was possible on a Chromebook. Any suggestions? I even refreshed it and powerwashed it and it's still back.

Here are the types of things I'm dealing with. I go to youtube to watch videos(how to get rid of chromebook viruses) and it will change videos on me right when I start to watch them or in the middle of watching. Next I tried reading my emails and certain words would become highlighted in the middle of me reading an email, with two things that look like tear drops at the beginning and end of whatever word they highlight(one email had the word scrooges, they kept highlighting that word. Then they'll also take certain words from a website I'm viewing and bring them up to my address bar except the word will have a circle and slash through it like the ghostbusters symbol. It sure seems like someone is actually watching exactly what I'm doing, unless that's just the way the virus acts? I'm not really tech savy at all.

It also resizes my page from time to time to make it much bigger than it normally is, or my page will start to slightly shake or move up or down, or to the left or right. I also get quite a few of those boxes that popup all the time that read, New Tab, reopen closed tab, task manager. Other boxes pop up too. I went to play free poker just to see if that worked and they were even fucking with me when it was my turn to bet by highlighting the address bar continually when it was my turn to bet so I would time out or missclick. Any suggestions? I've never had these issues on a chromebook.

A chromebook is basically a phone on steriods. It is android based. Do a factory reset. Your gonna lose everything but you usually dont store anything on a chromebook anyway. Other than that, just bite the bullet and take it to a guy

And what you descibed doesnt really sound like a virus, ESPECIALLY from a cryptocurrency website. You may have stuck buttons or a bad mouse pad or some other hardware issue. How old is it? Still under warranty?

Thanks Hamilbet. Actually it's new, I've had it for 2 months. I haven't ever dealt with anything like this before. It started almost immediately after I was visiting those sites and reading a bunch of articles on various cryto coins.

I think THERX has viruses! Have 2 computers that have been infected recently and these 2 computers do not visit more than about 10 sites, no porn etc.

No viruses here as we had Google a few months ago take care of the problems back then.
